Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are canceling the 2011 Children’s Water Festival at Michigan State University. Unfortunately, the Festival venue will not be available due to heavy construction for the next 12-18 months. Our staff and board have spent eight frustrating months seeking a suitable alternative. After reviewing and rejecting many suggested sites it was determined the Greater Lansing area does not have another comparable facility available that meets the specific needs of this event.
Your participation in the 2010 Children’s Water Festival is greatly appreciated. We thoroughly enjoy watching your students gain a better understanding of this vital resource and value the relationships we have built with many of you over the years.
We are planning to resume the festival in the spring of 2012. Please check our website www.h2ofest.org and watch for a save the date reminder from us in September 2011. We appreciate your understanding. If you would like suggestions or recommendations for curriculum specific to water or other water centered field trips please feel free to contact me at 517/393-0342 or ecampbell@mitcrpc.org.
Thank you for your continued commitment to water education.
Sincerely,
Erin Campbell

The Groundwater Management Board (GMB) is coordinating it's 15th Annual Children's Water Festival. The festival will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2010 on the Michigan State University campus at Wells Hall. This free event is sponsored by the GMB and local businesses.
The goal of the Children's Water Festival is to educate fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students on the importance of water conservation and protection. Through the use of hands-on activities and presentations the students become more aware of the relationship between water, their community, and themselves. The festival teaches them concepts that they can use in their daily routine that will help strengthen these relationships by preserving our water supply.
This web site was designed to introduce this one-day event to the public and media as well as provide information to those involved; local educators, sponsors, volunteers and students. Each page is specifically designed to cater to the concerns of these groups and offer easy access to new festival information and the opportunity to give feedback.
