The Groundwater Management Board (GMB) is coordinating it's Thirteenth Annual Children's Water Festival. The festival will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2008 on the Michigan State University campus at Wells Hall. This free event is sponsored by the GMB and local businesses.
The goal of the Children's Water Festival is to educate fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students on the importance of water conservation and protection. Through the use of hands-on activities and presentations the students become more aware of the relationship between water, their community, and themselves. The festival teaches them concepts that they can use in their daily routine that will help strengthen these relationships by preserving our water supply.
This web site was designed to introduce this one-day event to the public and media as well as provide information to those involved; local educators, sponsors, volunteers and students. Each page is specifically designed to cater to the concerns of these groups and offer easy access to new festival information and the opportunity to give feedback.
